  • Overview

    Reports into the Head Worldwide Field Medical & Medical Effectiveness, resides in US providing
    leadership to the US-based staff. Contributes to and implements the strategy and objectives of the WW Field Medical capability. Accountable for representing US specific needs and objectives and ensuring effective WW operating model. Drives consistency and efficiency across US and WW by developing, communicating and implementing standards and processes, delivering projects and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Serves as advisor to the US Leadership team on the evolution of the Field Medical Organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Contributes towards defining WWFM strategies and objectives and developing short and long term plans for the capability
    • Defines and enables the strategies and objectives for the US Field Medical function in strong collaboration with US Medical Leadership
    • Actively manages US Field Medical Strategy and Operations team
    • Leads the US Field Medical Leaders Council and sits as a member of the US Medical LT
    • Ensures US market integration into the WWFM capability, build connectivity and WWFM community
    • Partners with US FM leadership to understand FM priorities and FM functional expectations to support effective customer interactions and efficient FM support model
    • Defines and ensures representation of US FM needs to WW FM, Commercial capabilities and Enterprise services; accountable for ensuring appropriate levels of support for US FM
    • Identify, align and leverage resources and solutions across R&D, Commercial and Medical to support FM objectives
    • Continuously monitors healthcare landscape and prioritized customers to assess roles and activities in FM
    • Collaborates with Legal and Compliance for advice and approvals on field medical activities where needed
    • Ensures appropriate policies, procedures and process are defined and communicated with clarity
    • Identify, lead or participate in WW and US market specific programs, implements programs, processes and projects across US FM
    • Embed FM standards to deliver and assess training and improve customer interactions
    • Establish and deliver standard measures and reports, and supports analytical needs, monitor field medical activities
    • Oversees FM systems and resources providing insights into current and future needs to support business direction
    • Develops and implements plans for cross-therapeutic talent retention, assessment and development
    • Supports Alliance and other contracted staff integration field models
    • Identify, asses and manage CI projects; implement improvements and changes

    Qualifications

    Experience desired

    • College degree required, advanced business or scientific degree preferred
    • Pharmaceutical industry experience or consulting in pharmaceutical industry (required – 5 years)
    • Prior experience defining strategic priorities and direction, setting short and long term objectives, and leading operations (required – 5 years)
    • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing distributed teams, in highly matrixed environment (required – 5 years)
    • Demonstrated ability to work across cultures; successfully managed large work streams and projects globally (required)
    • Prior field experience in Pharmaceutical company (advantageous)
    • Previous experience overseeing large system development and implementations
    • Experience leading and managing dynamic change in organizations
