  • Overview

    The Regional Medical Science & Operations Liaison will represent the Client Cardiovascular Field Medical organization, as assigned. 


    The RMSOL will be aligned with the Client Field Medical function, working closely with the Client Field Commercial, Field Health Economics Outcomes and Home office Medical teams, with direct responsiblility for interacting with a targeted and additional identified list of external HCPs in a defined regional geography. The RMSOL will be primarily responsible for conducting presentations to HCPs (in 1:1 or group settings), communicating approved efficacy and safety information. As a member of the field medical team, the RMSOL will be responsible for scientific engagement of HCPs around defined disease areas, research topics and/or investigational compounds, as applicable. In addition, the RMSOL will provide operational support to the Cardiovascular Field Medical team.


    The RMSOL Primary Responsibilities include:

    Identifying disease and product related medical needs in a defined geography

    • Establish timely interactions with Thought Leaders (TL) and other Health Care Providers (HCP) aligned with medical strategies to discuss safe and appropriate use of approved products and pharmacoeconomic data.
    • Respond to unsolicited questions on current medical and scientific issues, healthcare advances, treatment trends, and health outcomes measures.
    • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the assigned disease /therapeutic area(s) and key publications.
    • Possess the ability to translate this information and data into high quality medical dialogue
    • Possess a sophisticated understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry including commercial, government payer strategies, and the evolving healthcare delivery models.
    • Deliver presentations to health care decision makers responding to unsolicited questions using relevant and approved materials.
    • Support Company initiated trials by interacting with primary investigators, assisting in site identification and screenings, and delivering disease education using approved resources.
    • Identify and train contracted speakers or internal team members in alignment with Medical plan and product life cycle needs.
    • Identify, collect and communicate insights to address competitive medical information in addition to insights on trends and changes affecting the regulatory and payer environment used to develop medical strategies.


    The RMSOL is responsible for Cardiovascular Field Medical operational support in alignment with the team needs as established by Cardiovascular Field Medical Leadership Team

    • Manage Cardiovascular Field Medical SharePoint Site
    • Manage MSL Resources
    • Facilitate IT & InterAct Updates
    • Collate SAIL submissions
    • Maintain New Hire Onboarding Checklist
    • Capture FMLT minutes/action items
    • Manage Alliance TL list
    • Develop Cardiovascular Field Medical Newsletter
    • Track FM Team development/skills training status
    • Facilitate contracting and SoW processing


    RMSOL fully complies with all company policies and applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards.


    Position Requirements:

    • Terminal doctoral degree, MD, PharmD, or PhD, preferred
    • In depth knowledge of a scientific or clinical area, disease area knowledge, including key scientific publications
    • Clinical experience in a specific Disease Area or with a broad medical background
    • Minimum of 4 years working in a clinical or pharmaceutical environment (excludes post doc education) with understanding of the medical and commercial matrix
    • Understanding of clinical research principles
    • Understanding of the US Healthcare system, the pharmaceutical industry and clinical and health economic practices in the US
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently, resilience, flexibility and high tolerance for ambiguity while operating in fast-paced environment
    • Skillful planning and ability to organize/execute on multiple priorities/projects with high degree of initiative
    • Strong situational awareness with demonstrated intellectual and organizational agility
    • Previous experience with field operations or metric reporting desirable
    • Proven success in managing projects within medical and/or commercial teams
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability and willingness to quickly learn Client systems
    • Ability to work effectively across organizational levels, functions and geographic boundaries to complete objectives
    • Ability to travel locally and regionally, up to 85%. May vary by region and teams needs
    • Valid driver’s license


    Position is field based; RMSOL will be required to live centrally in the territory which they manage with access to a major airport.
